DEVA Partisi içerisinde ağır eleştirilere maruz kalan Efe, bir otelde düzenlenen basın toplantısında partinin halka, delegelere ve üyelere umutsuzluk verdiğini belirtti.
Efe, certain members including himself have criticisms towards the party management and refuse to accept the gradual decline of the party. Therefore, a decision was made to form an opposition group within the party in order to ensure democracy and pluralism before the general congress. Efe stated, “I have decided to become a candidate for the position of party leader. With a new spirit, vision, narrative, and new faces, we are confident that we will revive our party and once again gain the trust of our people.”
Expressing his criticisms towards DEVA Party Leader Ali Babacan, Efe stated, “I object to Ali Bey for not managing the party as declared to the public since its establishment. In order to bring hope to both DEVA Party and our people, I say ‘count me in’ for this democratic competition, which is my legal right in Turkish politics.”
According to the DEVA Party statute, “In order to be a candidate for the position of party leader, a written nomination from at least fifteen percent of the total members of the grand congress is required.”
